What is it with some men and their inability to "risk their masculinity" by donning a pink or floral garment? They say "pink is for girls" when really, who decided that rule in the first place? The only reason our western culture holds on to these gender stereotypes is so that we can have easy answers. If a little boy plays with his GI Joe while wearing his denim overalls, he is a typical boy, no questions asked. When he picks up his sister's Barbie doll, suddenly all hell breaks loose. Questions of his sexuality arise and parents become worrisome.
I say, what's the difference? In this modern day world, both women and men go to war and spend time in the kitchen. So what if Barbie is grasped in the hands of a 5 year old boy? We accept tomboys, so why not the opposite? It's the 21st century, it's about time we blend the gender roles.

Absolutely agreed! My best guy friend /roommate is straight, but he wears nail polish for the hell of it. He is so against the idea of having to be all macho that he would be the little boy that picked up that barbie just for the reaction.
I love it when both genders take fashion risks. I figure if I can get away with wearing guys menswear-esque clothes then why can't guys wear feminine clothes?
I love that scarf, by the way!
Aw, I love menswear, especially with the hat and scarf. Perfection. ^_^
PS: Thanks for your comment! ♥
beautiful scarf
Two things:
1.I absolutely agree with you and the stupidity of gender stereotypes.
2. You look adorable in these pictures- very reminiscent of Chloe Sevigny!

Lovely pictures! The hat is absolutely great! You look fabulous! :)
definitly, hate all the macho thing, that men cannot cry, or be fashionable, its stupid.
ADIOS
Agree with you! BTW This outfit is really cool!
xx
i think all neighborhoods here are amazing haha! when are going to be in Paris? Im leaving sunday. Ive been here since June 25.
I love that scarf
chic outfit! love the scarf & hat :)
I love the hat and the glasses!
I love your outfit, fun fedora & great scarf. That is a very pressing issue in western society today, I know of a family that took it so far that when their son, Nathan, started playing with dolls & wearing his sisters' clothes at age 4 they immediatly jumped to the conclusion that he is transgendered! he's only 4! now he goes by natalie and is in counseling!!? btw love the blog would you like to trade links?
that scarf is pretty sweet.
and i love love love your top.
great point!
i agree completely with all taht you said. the whole boys wear blue and girls wear pink is just completely outdated.
I couldn't agree with you more. Really, people make things way too complicated.
Once a boy is secure in his sexuality, he can wear anything he wants! e.g. BryanBoy
LOVE the top and that hat, looks fabulous!! And I totally rock pink tons, it happens to go well against my skin colour lol. And because of my rather dainty and tall build, quite a few of my jeans are from the women's section, which doesn't really make me a cross dresser or gay...it's just finding something that fits properly :) Annnnd I used to make outfits for my toy figures, it promotes creativity! And yup I've been to Toronto to visit family and just see the city really, twas fun, rather different than London...everything was very spread out...London is tightly packed all the time.
The whole femininity thing is annoying. I have a friend who won't wear is new (lovely!) cardigan out to the pub because people will call him gay. Lame.
I love that green scarf too. I'll get onto that link as well, I really enjoy reading your posts.
wow i adore your outfit.your hat is so v cool xxx
Cute hat! Just the right touch.
Love the look. I really admire some masculine boys I have met who bravely don pink and it gets them a lot of positive attention from females!
Men's look is cool! I love wearing like that. Your fedora is absoulutely gorgeous - you look perfect:)
Ps. I bought my H&M boots one year ago;)
hi sweetie! looove the print on the scarf :]
i'm glad you like the florals! i shop at random places really, flea markets, thrift shops around here, etc. what size are you btw? maybe i can send you something since you love florals!
Thanks for the comment :)
The scarf is so nice.
I think flowers are SO cute on guys!
You're outfit is adorably simple.
I think that it's a guy's fear of not being masculine enough. I guess it all boils down to the fact that they're not confident enough to do things out of the norm.
However, I think the Jonas Brothers (don't shoot me) are a shining example of guys who really aren't afraid of being laughed at.
i like your hat and glasses
thank you so much!
and no problem, i love your style!
love your glasses!
i love the fedora. very cute and practical (i hate sun in my eyes)
to answer your question: running an online store is amazing. i work from home, thrift shop for a living, and have the freedom to do what i like when i like. it's also surprisingly lucrative but involves alot of work. thanks for your sweet comments. xo
you make a v. good point, I hate how so many things are polarized between female and male...
on another note, the fedora looks great on you. I've been meaning to get a fedora of my own, but I'm not sure if I could actually work it...
i completely agree! if society can accept tomboys, why cant it accept "feminine" boys? i love a well dressed guy, and i dont think it makes them any less of a guy OR person. great scarf by the way!
i agree, but i suppose it's the way we've been brought up? But here in Australia soo many guys wear pink so i suppose fashion is finally blending gender styles? You look fabulous, i love the scarf is very different =]
I'm obsessed with your shoes.
OBSESSED.
I have the same scarf; it was inherited from my mom. wonder where they're from?
Thanks :)
I really like your hat and your glasses. Have a nice day!!
Great idea of mixing these both. Love the floral scarf!
You should so buy a Holga! They are dirt cheap on eBay :)
beautiful scarf and love the hat.
i think more men are wearing pink nowadays.
my friend did a speech on gender stereotypes a while ago, and actually, before the war blue was associated with girls (more calm) and pinky reds with boys (more fiery).... something like that
The scarf & fedora made the outfit so amazing :) Perfect touches! Ohwell, the topic of why girls are always below boys no matter how hard they try is still quite taboo in Asia!
I'm loving the fedora, and the scarf!
That outfit is so lovely! I love the shorts-hat combo. When you added the scarf, it became perfect.
Yay for fashion risks and getting rid of stereotypes.
Oh yes! I also think more guys should wear nail varnish, its COOL!
Love those glasses on you! and you pull of hats really well....=)
ncie
nice
the scarf lovely
